An Oak Spoon Rack

£480.00

An early oak spoon rack with a pierced and shaped cresting. This two-tier rack with space for twelve spoons above a tray with a shaped front, together with a collection of eight pewter spoons is extremely charming. We believe this came from Wales, with its slightly asymmetrical form and the deeper lower box. Spoon racks were used like the Welsh dresser, acting as a minature showcase for the family silver or pewter. This object and absolutely sums up everything we love at Sheldrake.
